Before North Notts Blinds (Mfg) Ltd
Here at North Notts Blinds, we built our brand using our years of hands on experience, working for some of the biggest names in British blinds retailing. Our passion and belief in a future of a 'blind for every window' drove us to find a way to develop our own range of market leading products and make them available to consumers & trade alike. So, it was in 2004 that we started the North Notts Blinds adventure, with a team of only four.
2004
Newark Showroom Grand Opening!
With over 30 years experience in the Blinds Industry we knew that we'd need to offer both quality & range from day one. Our showroom and manufacturing divisions went live on the same day, with both Trade & Residential customers able to view our full range of blind fabrics, accessories and configuration options.
2005
Membership of the British Blind & Shutter Association
Our dedication to raising standards and a commitment to quality manufacturing within the blinds industry helped assure our affiliation to the British Blind & Shutter Association. Prestigious recognition for our business and an assurance to our customers that we're always pushing the boundaries when it comes to offering inspiring products & choice.
2006
1st Major expansion of manufacturing
2006 saw the opening of a new facility to accommodate a regional first...machinery to create Ultrasonically Sealed Blinds! Due to the nature of this revolutionary new technology, meaning louvre weights or chains, we began supply to major UK clients in the Healthcare, Education & Social Care industries. We soon realised the success & versatility of the sealed pocket range meant it would make an ideal Child Safe blind for our retail customers too...and we weren't wrong!
2007
Workforce & Network Expansion
With demand growing from both the Domestic & Commercial market places the time was right to expand our skilled workforce. Through a combination of offering new, local training opportunities and further skills training for the existing team, we increased capacity for blinds manufacturing by over 100% - in line with increasing customer base...
2009
Introduction of UPVC Specific Blinds
In 2009, North Notts Blinds became one of the most prominent of the manufacturers and suppliers in the Midlands for the complete Perfect Fit™ Blinds range. As champions of this amazing product range, which is specifically suited to UPVC windows & doors, we have seen demand soar in recent years. With enclosed controls, the Perfect Fit™ collection has grown to become the prime choice when it comes to child safety in window blinds for the home or conservatory.
2012
New Cutting Edge Machinery Installed
With the continuing high demand for Vertical Blinds in Nottingham, Lincoln & Leicester and an increase in requests for Child Safe blinds, we invested in growing our production output. We added two more Ultrasonically Sealed Pocket Vertical Blind machines as North Notts Blinds became the largest Blinds Manufacturer to champion this state of the art technologyto create one of the safest, no fuss, Vertical Blinds available. Encapsulated weights, no need for louvre chains, and incredibly modern, this range has continued to go from strength to strength.
2014
2014 & the Years Ahead!
It's 2014, we've now outgrown completely our first facility! We've moved to a new blinds manufacturing facility of some 18,500sq ft, with our full time workforce now at 40 we supply England, Scotland & Wales with over 10,000 quality, handmade blinds, every month. Our new showroom is the perfect place for you to come and view our fantastic range of Perfect Fit™, Venetians, Sealed Pocket Verticals and so many more styles of handmade blinds!
